Bournemouth will be hosting their annual Food & Drink Festival starting Friday 22nd June 2012 until the final day Sunday 1st July 2012. I've been looking at what's in store.
The Bournemouth Food & Drink Festival is being held for ten days promoting local businesses including food producers, cafés, restaurants and drinks companies. They are laying on a number of different types of events, some held in Bournemouth Square & Triangle and others at establishments nearby.
I'm looking forward to going along to some of the events, so I'm praying for good weather to let me get out with the kids and see what's going on. I've been looking through the official website for the occasion and there's a nice variety, so definitely something for everyone.
Some of the events I'm looking to go to...
This is going to be held in Bournemouth Square and Triangle enabling local businesses to show off their professions. Some of the names include La Tasca, Giggi Ice Cream & Sopley Farm. The market will be open during quite long periods over the three days so there's easily enough opportunity to go and take a look at the stalls and see what's on offer!
The market hours are:
Friday 29th June 2012 10am-10pm
Saturday 30th June 2012 10am – 10pm
Sunday 1st July 2012 10am – 8pm
Sunday 1st July 2012 Midday – 8pm
The Demo Kitchen – Bournemouth Square
This looks particularly good. There will be a demonstration kitchen in Bournemouth Square with a number of different chefs showing us novices how it's done. The demonstrations will be running whilst the market is there from 29th June – 1st July. The demos that drew my attention are
Teaching the Mayor To Cook (Midday on Friday)
Caribbean Cooking (Saturday at 3pm)
Great Ideas For Barbecues (Sunday 1pm)
so I'll be trying to get along to those. There are many more demonstrations, so please take a look at the Bournemouth Food & Drink Festival website.
In addition to the events in Bournemouth Square there are other individual events. These are being held at The Miramar Hotel, Flirt Café Bar, Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel, Pavilion Dance & Zoukinis Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurant. These events are being held at specific times so please check the guide on the BFDF website.
Looks good doesn't it! Hopefully if you are local to Bournemouth you'll be able to get to the festival and enjoy what's going on. See you there!
I'm not linked to the festival in anyway other than I'll be going along to see what's happening. The information included in this article was correct at the time it was published. Please don't rely on the timings for your own schedule, instead you should check on the official website in case things have changed.
