Watercress is a leafy vegetable which is great used as part of a salad leaf or garnish. It can also be used as main ingredients in main courses, soups and sauces. Watercress is produced in the UK and can grow all year round, it also grows very quickly making for fast crop production. Grown in either an aquatic or semi-aquatic environment watercress requires plenty of water to flourish properly.

When is watercress in season in the UK?

One local supplier states that their watercress is available in the following months: March; April; May; June; July; August; September; October; and November.

There are some discrepancies regarding the months in which watercress is in season. A couple of other sources seem to indicate that the season only runs from April to September. I've decided to list the months that a producer has stated, after all they should know when they'll be selling their produce.
